The American fragrance brand Bond No 9 introduced a new scent called Astor Place on April 1, 2009. This is the 34th fragrance created by the incomparable Laurice Rahme for the perfume house, in honor of her beloved magnificent city of New York. The creator of the scent, Laurent Le Guernec, was deeply inspired by the rich history of New York’s neighborhoods, streets, and even individual buildings. Astor Place marks the western edge of the East Village, where in 1967, on the corner of Lafayette Street and Fourth Avenue, sculptor Tony Rosenthal erected a spinning black cube known as “Alamo,” a symbol of free art.
